If you have a
skill in graphic design, very unfortunate if not used optimally. I imagine if
thousands of college students in Indonesia who are talented in graphic design
want to work and sell the results, it will add their financy at a young age.
They don’t have to worry about asking for money to their parents for daily life
and tuition fees. Surely, it will be an alternative for them to learn
independent. Along with the growth of internet business, of course graphic
design services will be much needed. For example to create a website, create a
cover, create a promotional banner, create a landing page, etc.
So, what is
needed to start a graphic design business?
There are things
that need to start a graphic business:
1.
Skill on design.
You
must have the ability in graphic design. Plus, able to use graphic processing
applications, such as photoshop, adobe illustrator, corel draw, etc.
2.
Website.
The
website will be used as a place to offer design services. It's like that
website as an "office" where you meet clients, offer clients, and
display portfolio. It would be nice if you have a website with domain name .com/other
top level domains. Imagine if you have a web with the address "www.YourName.com",
of course the professional impression you can lead in front of clients. With
the website, you can display your various portfolios.
3.
Portfolio.
Portfolio
can convincing the client to use your services. What if you don’t have
portfolio? If you don’t have a portfolio, then you have to make it first.
Portfolio can be obtained in various ways, such as following campus activities
and make a design. In addition, you can also offer designs for early clients.
For example, college friends. If you already have a portfolio, then you will be
confident to get the next client.
Have a skill on
design is not enough. It would be better if you also have marketing skills. Marketing
skills are needed to promote your services easy to find. Currently, many media
can be used for promotion. You can use various social media (Facebook,
Instagram, Google Plus, Linkedin, etc.) to promote your services. In addition,
marketplace services can also be used for promotional media.
The conclusion is many business opportunities are available on the internet. If we have the ability
that can be sold, then the internet is the solution.
